Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 31, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Adulting Finance ("we", "us", "our") handles information when you visit https://adultingfinance.com. By using the site you agree to the practices described here. We keep data collection to a minimum: you can read every article without an account, and we never sell your personal information.

1. Information we do not collect

2. Information we do collect

Messages you send us. If you email us or use the contact form, we receive what you choose to provide — typically your name, email address, and message — and use it only to respond to you and keep a record of the correspondence.

Newsletter (if you opt in). If we offer an email newsletter and you subscribe, we store the email address you provide solely to send the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email.

Server logs. Like virtually every website, our hosting provider records standard request logs — IP address, browser/user-agent, the page requested, referrer, and timestamp — for security and abuse prevention. These are retained for a limited period and then deleted.

3. Third-party advertising (Google AdSense)

This site is supported by display advertising served primarily through Google AdSense, a service operated by Google LLC. Google and its certified ad partners may use cookies and similar technologies to:

Google's use of advertising cookies is governed by Google's advertising policies. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings, or opt out of many ad networks at once at aboutads.info (US) or youronlinechoices.eu (EU/UK). Advertising may not yet be active on every page; this section describes how Google AdSense operates once it is enabled.

4. Cookies

The cookies on this domain fall into two groups: a small number of essential cookies needed for the site to function, and third-party advertising cookies set by Google AdSense and its partners (see Section 3). You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; doing so will not stop you from reading articles, though some ads may become less relevant.

5. Analytics

We may use privacy-respecting analytics to understand, in aggregate, which articles are useful. If we adopt a tool that sets cookies or collects personal data (such as Google Analytics), we will update this page and enable IP anonymization where applicable.

6. EU / UK users (GDPR)

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, your interaction with Google AdSense is subject to Google's EU User Consent Policy, and a consent banner will be shown before non-essential cookies are set. You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete personal data we hold about you, and to withdraw consent at any time. Because most ad-related data is processed by Google, such requests are best directed to Google. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

7. California users (CCPA / CPRA)

California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, to delete it, to opt out of its "sale" or "sharing", and to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. We do not sell personal information. To the extent the use of Google AdSense for personalized advertising is considered "sharing" under the CPRA, you can opt out via Google Ads Settings or by enabling Global Privacy Control (GPC) in your browser, which we honor. To make a request, email contact@adultingfinance.com with the subject line "CCPA Request".

8. Children's privacy (COPPA)

This site is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Data security

The site is served over HTTPS. Because we collect very little personal data, there is little to expose — but we follow standard security practices for the static site and its hosting.

10. Links to other sites

Articles link to authoritative sources (such as the CFPB, FDIC, IRS, and Federal Reserve) and to third-party tools. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites; review each site's own policy before sharing information there.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest revision; material changes will be noted on the site.

12. Contact

For privacy questions, email contact@adultingfinance.com with the subject line "Privacy".
